This was a fun project. Our project was to study the works of Eric Carle, the illustrator of such works as; Very Hungry Caterpiller and Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Our group used collage and pen to explore how to illustrate a book.
I worked as editor on this piece, and with Adobe Photoshop I simplified and combined drawings in order to come up with the images you see here.
The story, This is the house that Jack built, is a very old story it was first published in Aramaic in 1590, and first published in the United States by the Boston New Letter (newspaper) in 1739.
There is an actual house known as the real 'house that Jack built' in Shropshire, England, it's name is Cherrington Manor.
* As a side note about editing; no student wanted to make the judge, so I created this one by photo-shopping together various images of a judge.
